We can understand the difference between coffee pots and coffee machines from the following four aspects.
Coffee pot: Simply put, it is the pot used to make coffee. Usually, electricity is not required. Common coffee pots include French press, mocha pot, siphon pot, American drip pot (this pot classification is a little different, and it is also called American coffee machine), Vietnamese pot, manual brewing pot, Belgian pot, etc.
Coffee machine: Since it is called a coffee machine, it is generally a device produced after the development of industry. It usually needs to use electricity. The advantage is that it is more intelligent. Coffee machines are often divided into two types, namely: semi-automatic coffee machines and fully automatic coffee machines. The biggest difference between the two is that fully automatic coffee machines can make coffee with one click, while semi-automatic coffee machines need to grind coffee powder by themselves.
The types of coffee beans used by coffee pots and coffee machines are also different. Usually, when a coffee pot makes coffee, the coffee beans used are single-origin coffee beans (except for mocha pots), and the coffee beans used by coffee machines are Italian blended coffee beans.
When a coffee pot makes coffee, there is usually no pressure (a mocha pot will produce some pressure when making coffee). Therefore, the coffee produced is of low concentration, light taste, relatively low acidity and bitterness, almost no oil, and relatively low mellowness. It is usually used for direct drinking.
Coffee machines make coffee under high pressure, high temperature, fine grinding and short extraction. Therefore, the coffee produced has a high concentration, a mellow and rich taste, relatively high acidity and bitterness, rich oil, and is usually mixed with milk for drinking.
The steps of making coffee with a coffee pot are slightly more complicated than those of a coffee machine. A coffee machine is more automated and intelligent, such as one-touch coffee making, one-touch cappuccino, one-touch coffee, etc. The convenience and speed are incomparable to coffee pots, but its appreciation and mood are slightly inferior to pots.
From the above situation, it is not difficult to guess that the price of a coffee machine will be more expensive than that of a coffee pot. The price of a coffee pot is usually less than a thousand, while the price of an entry-level coffee machine is more than 1,000, not to mention high-end commercial machines, which cost tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands.
